Tony Davis for Ward 6
Tony is currently serving his second term as Alderman of Ward 6. He is a member of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Community Development Committee.
As a member of the Finance Committee and working with Mayor Noble, department leaders, and the Common Council, Tony voted to approve a budget that reduced the tax rate for the third year in a row.
As Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Tony with the Community Development Advisory board was able to allocate over $750,000 Community Development Block Grant funding to 13 community programs and 9 community projects in 2018.
As Alderman, Tony continues to strive to make the City of Kingston a safe and beautiful place to live and work for ALL.
In 2018, Tony, together with his colleagues on the Council and Mayor Noble, worked to enhance city services such as the merger of the city’s bus service with Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT). He worked with the current administration to invest in much-needed city infrastructure repairs and renovations. And the city was able to increase economic development opportunities when Kingston won the $10 million DRI award from New York State, and with the establishment of the Kingston Land Bank.
Tony has and continues to be readily available to his constituents by holding community meetings and responding to communications in a timely manner.
Tony holds a BS in Business Management from Springfield College and a MS in Education from the University of New England. He is former Kingston Professional Firefighter. Tony
is currently an 8th grade Social Studies teacher in the Kingston School District.
Tony has been married to his wife Ginger (Kithcart) for 27 years. They have one daughter, Jenifer.
